To me, college is all about the relationships that you make. And that is something that I have definitely been blessed enough to have found this semester! My polo team is absolutely wonderful, and I am so lucky to have found these friendships where I can be me - hyper, sassy, silly, goofy, clumsy, weird, and crazy - and that is perfectly okay. I don't have to be "sane". I am loved for being sarcastic, for being innocent, for saying things that I didn't think about before they came out of my mouth. These girls love me for ME and I couldn't ask for anything else.
After our last game today (our last game for the season), I got super emotional for a bit, realizing that one of the girls that made me fall in love with this polo team is graduating this semester and won't be playing with us next year. Graduation is always a bittersweet time, but I have never been this upset about a senior leaving. Jana and I spend numerous hours a week sassing each other and being our absolute ridiculous selves, and she always finds a way to make me smile everyday.
These are the relationships that I will treasure forever. These are the friends that I may go a while without talking to, but I know will never leave my life. Grades, GPA, extracurriculars, graduation... yes those are important. But nothing is more important than the relationships that you will make and treasure forever!!
