And I LOVE it! They are all so cute and adorable. I'm working every week, 1-2 times a week, depending on who needs me to cover in addition to my Friday night lessons.
Last night I had one little girl (I knew her mom and brother) who I got to teach. She was precious, blond hair-blue eyed little cutie. When I saw her for the first time she reminded me of Layla Grace's older sister Claire, who was the same age, and I couldn't help but think that I could have had the chance to teach Layla Grace to swim one day. Not the point, but still, she was on my mind.
I sincerely LOVE teaching swim lessons. I guess the fact that I'm going on my 14th year of swimming, I'm kind of getting tired of that swimmer-role. I love my team, but sometimes I have no motivation to get in and swim a practice, when I know this time next year I will be done competing in meets all-together. But getting to teach lessons is a whole new side of swimming for me, and I love it. I still get to be in the water, and I'm still connected to the sport, and I still get to swim a little bit, but it's so flip-side from being in the water swimming a practice. I think that in a few (or 13)years these little 4 year-olds will be my age and will possibly still be swimming year-round. It makes me happy thinkin' that I'm a part of that foundation for them.
So who knows where this will go, but as for now, I'm loving it!
