There were 3 hunters than went on a hunting trip together. On the first night it was cold outside, so instead of sleeping in their truck they decided they'd stay the night in a motel.
The assistant manager was at the front desk when they arrived to check in. The assistant manager told the 3 guys it would be $30 total for the night. Each guy paid with a $10 bill, for a total of $30.
When the manager came back he told the assistant manager that there was a deal going on for $5 off the cost of the motel room. So the assistant said he would go give the 3 guys back the money that they were overcharged.
The assistant wasn't stupid and realized that each guy would want his own part of the $5 back, so grabbed 5 $1 bills. When he got to the room, he pocketed $2 for himself realizing he couldn't split the 5 evenly, and then handed each of the 3 hunters their $1 back.
So each guy paid $9 for the hotel room (9X3=$27), and the assistant manager kept $2.
But wait. There was $30. 27 + 2 = $29.
Where's the missing dollar??
