When headaches come, when your back hurts, when you start running a fever, when you can't sleep -- we are blessed to have medicine that takes care of all of these aches, pains, and ailments.
Today, I have had one of the worst headaches I have ever had. I'd turned off all the lights in my dorm, only having one lamp on to try to help ease this annoyance. Finally I gave in and took an Aleve, and it worked wonders within about a half hour! I was able to get a solid few hours of studying in before the headache returned.
I am so thankful for modern medicine! It plays such a huge role in our lives and we don't even realize it. Granted, it has started to cause some issues as far as antibiotics and antibiotic resistance is concerned, but things like ibprofin, advil, tylenol, aleve... It keeps us going when our bodies don't want to!
Then again, this thought enters my mind: what if these ailments are our body's way of telling us to slow down and we are just masking them? Regardless, I am thankful for modern meds that keep us going when our body's would rather not!
