Thankful-Day 17

Today, I am thankful for my Godmother.

13 years ago, Sandy was a huge influence in my life. She worked at my elementary so I got to see her everyday, and we were very close. We would be silly together, and I loved hanging out with her. To me, she was like an aunt that I got to see ALL the time, which considering I only get to see my extended family once or twice a year, I loved that she was close.

Then life happened. She moved about 4 hours away, and both of our families got really busy. They came down to Houston 10 years ago, and we got to see them for a couple hours, but that was the last time that I saw Sandy...

.... until yesterday. She came to College Station for the game and I got to see her for the very first time in 10 years. We didn't even know where to begin on catching up. She filled me in on her life and her kids, and I was able to tell her a bit about school and the life that I now live. A lot changes in 10 years, and it was really sad that we missed out on all of that with each other, but it was great to be able to catch up and see her! Hopefully it won't be 10 years before I see her again!
